Rolling into the 2019-20 Season

Holy moly did summer fly by!

All those smiling faces!

All those smiling faces!

We capped off last year's season with the annual pot-luck: friends, flowers, food... what more could you ask for? We started off by reflecting on how the season went and were proud to hear our musicians share how they were stepping out of their comfort zones and experimenting on the stage. On that note, Mai introduced a fabulous improv activity involving instruments from violins to clarinets to wooden tongs (thanks Noah and Amelia: we now know what strawberries would sound like). Last, we concluded the season with brunch in Maia's backyard.

While most of Continuo took the summer off, some of us couldn't help but keep the music coming. In July, Continuo made its debut at Boston Children's Museum's annual Wizarding Weekend. Amelia B. (clarinet) and Amelia D. (piano) brought their young audience on a magical underwater adventure, featuring spells and songs from The Little Mermaid. Colorful costumes and props certainly were not overlooked. In the coming season, Continuo is beyond excited to pursue energetic performance-based residencies with the Children's Museum (more on that later!).

From community performances at senior centers, to residencies at BCM and CLCS, we can't wait to make some music. Here's to an action-packed 2019/20 season!
